Interactive Mechanical & Electronic Book – STL + STEP + Manual
3D-Printed Mechanical Book – Digital Files
Bring your bookshelf to life with this mechanical/electrical book!
⚠️ Note: This isn’t a beginner project—it’s designed for people who enjoy the build journey as much as the finished result. The instructions provided are basic and focus on how parts are fastened and assembled, not step-by-step instruction.
What You’ll Create
- A fully functional mechanical + electrical book with moving pages
- A head-turning conversation piece for your desk, shelf, or maker portfolio
- A project that blends 3D printing, electronics, and creativity into one
Skills & Experience Needed
- 3D printing know-how (orientation, supports, settings – not covered in instructions)
- Electronics experience (Soldering, reading/verifying schematic and connections)
- CAD skills (For substituting parts/components/making modifications)
What’s Included
- STEP file of the full assembly — provided in two versions (with poems / without poems)
- STL files for all individual components
- Blank STL files for “text-boxes” and cover (so you can add your own text, poems, or graphics)
-
PDF Manual with:
- Bill of Materials (3D printed parts not listed in BOM)
- Wiring schematic (reference only)
- Assembly instructions. The instructions provided are basic and focus on how parts are fastened and assembled, not step-by-step assembly guidance.
What You’ll Need (Not Included)
- A 3D printer (Filament swap ability if you want embedded text like in my video)
- Basic maker tools: screwdriver, soldering iron, multimeter, etc
- Sanding/filing tools (some parts—especially gears, joints, and holes—will need adjustment)
- Material from the BOM (more detailed in download)
- Electronics: DC motor, battery, motor driver, PowerBoost module, switches, LEDs, resistors/caps, perfboard, ICs, etc..
- Hardware: screws, springs, magnets, etc..
- Materials: Filament, optional paint/finish etc..
Support & Refunds
- Build support (best effort only): support@axelmadeit.com
- General questions: contact@axelmadeit.com
- Digital files are non-refundable once downloaded. If you run into problems with the files themselves, I’ll do my best to help.

- You may gift a finished build, but resale, redistribution, or any commercial use of the files or derivatives is not allowed.
Important Disclaimers (Please Read)
These files and notes document what I built. They are shared for creative, educational, and experimental purposes only.
- 3D-printed parts often require sanding, filing, or reprinting—expect this to be part of the process.
- The included schematic is for reference only. It worked for me, but errors may exist and results can vary with different parts/components. Always double-check wiring and work cautiously.
- Modifying off-the-shelf electronic modules could damage components or pose safety risks.
- This project has not been tested for long-term use; motors or components may wear out, overheat, or fail.
- ⚠️ Even if you follow my documentation exactly, risks remain due to tolerances, part variations, and unforeseen issues.
- By purchasing, downloading, or using these files and instructions, you agree that:
- You are fully responsible for your own build, modifications, and use..
- The creator provides no warranties, guarantees, or liability for damages, injuries, or losses.
- You build and use this project entirely at your own risk.
Closing Note
